ALBA
Alba

Alba is part of an expedition to an unexplored planet far from earth. She was an unwanted child, and deeply scarred, Alba clings to the famous anthropologist, Nielsen. She is despised by the other scientists, who know that she is only there because she is Nielsen’s young mistress … The new world is exotic and tempting, and Alba relishes all of it. Unlike several of the others she quickly gets used to the rhythm and temperature of the planet. There is a strange mix of people in the group and they have a difficult time dealing with each other and their vulnerability in the new world. The only one who seems unaffected is Xavier who was the last person to join the expedition and no one seems to know anything about his past.
Alba’s lover Nielsen dreams of returning home a hero, and he is so consumed with the discoveries in a ruined city that he is oblivious to the growing tensions within the group. He oesn’t notice how Xavier watches Alba, and that she goes on long walks alone, returning with the scent of Xavier on her skin. Nielsen suspects nothing. The excavations continue, the rainy season begins, the frustration grows and Alba’s situation becomes more and more untenable. The scientists begin to understand that an advanced civilization built the now ruined city and everyone forms expectations about these people. When the group finally comes face to face with the inhabitants, the encounter is brutal and shocking. Nothing is the way it was supposed to be.
