RITTA JACOBSSON

EXEKUTORN

As a newly hired consultant at a local bostadsbolag, Martina is confronted with a reality far away from the calm area she lives in. Martina who is in the middle of a divorce has more than enough problems as it is at home but already the first week, two young men are found murdered in her area. It seems to be some kind of controversy in the criminal world. At the same time another figure appears in the periphery with totally different motives.

This is a worrying crime novel about power and powerlessness , about cause and effect – about horrible crimes and ghastly punishments.

Exekutorn was published by Albert Bonnier förlag in 2002.

Exekutorn describes reality in an almost brutal way. Helena Nurmi manages to keep the reader constanlyt alert from the first chapter to the last. This is a book that you gladly read at one sitting and it is perfect in front of the fire when the snow is whirling outside the window.

Shocking in a suburban surrounding
Now, don’t believe that it is enough for Nurmi with a plain portrait of a suburb with one or two murders. Everything is not conflicts between criminal bands and meaningless violence. You can soon sense a murderer with highly personal motives in this well-written, thrilling and staggering debut.
