A book about growing up as a young woman, about lesbian love and about trying to find out who you are.

Jenny, 15 years old, who loves football and admires Marie Curie, falls in love with the beautiful Filippa. Jenny lives with two loving and politically correct parents who do not understand anything about Jenny’s life and dreams. As often as she can, she runs away from her parents’ loving care to the football training, to her “extra brother” Mattias or to her diary where she writes letters to Marie Curie.

Her relationship with Filippa falls apart, Mattias lets her down and Jenny decides to become an outlaw. But as the summer vacation from school gets closer, Jenny is beginning to find a new context with new friends where she can be just the way she is.

Sara who fights against the EU and who can paint an S in the air when breathing out in the cold winter evenings. Jenny has stopped playing football and she does not really know what to do or where to go. What wars will she fight? She needs a battle. Being homo means that you face injustice over and over again. But in what direction should she strike? She tries to put her energy on a documentary about a lesbian woman who was beaten up by some neo-nazis. Together with her friends and beautiful Elise they interview the victim and some nazis. When Elise enters the room, Jenny gets disgusted and hungry at the same time. Elise who can make the air shiver and who always gets what she wants. If the wars on the outside are vague and unclear, the wars inside are even harder to win. Jenny who is deeply and warmly in love with Sara, can she resist on the hunger for Elise, and does she really want to? My vague war will be published by Kabusa Böcker in the autumn 2006.

		About the author Annika Ruth Persson was born in 1955 and lives in Stockholm. She is now working full time as a writer and translator. The author was nominated for the prestigious Swedish August Award in 2003 for her first book You and I, Marie Curie which has now been adapted for the theatre at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Sweden.
