INGER WOLF

FROST AND ASHES
Frost og aske

In the middle of a snowstorm an eight year boy is found dead in a river in the small town Mårslet near Århus in the north of Denmark. He has been strangled with a fishing line and has severe burns on his hands.
The police investigation into the boy’s death leads in many directions: toward an older man with a dark past and a large collection of ladybirds, toward a young boy with a mobile phone and a guilty conscience and, a drowning accident in the river 30 years ago.
On the surface the small Danish town appears to be idyllic and serene, but the cold beneath seeps down to the bones of detective superintendent Daniel Trokic and the rest of the team from the Århus police. As the snow melts a painful story is revealed.

Frost and Ashes is the second independent novel in the series about reclusive detective superintendent Daniel Trokic and the colorful IT-specialist Lisa Kornelius.

A DARK END OF SUMMER
Sort sensommer

It’s the end of September in a small Danish town. The young single mother, antropologist student Anna Kiehl, doesn’t come home to her three-year old son after her usual run in the woods. Next morning she is found naked, with her throat cut and a bouquet of dry flowers on her chest.
Acting Detective chief inspector Daniel Trokic, a thirty something bachelor with his roots in Kroatia, leads the investigation that goes in several directions. The police find Anna’s death connected to the disappearance of a prominent researcher in neurochemicals, and finally the trail goes back twenty years in time.
The odd couple, the introvert detective chief inspector Daniel Trokic and his opposite, the colourful IT-specialist Lisa Kornelius, seek the murderer who is closer than they suspect and definitely willing to murder again if necessary. This is an exciting page-turner – a mix between a psychological thriller and a detective novel.

A Dark end of Summer was published by Forlaget Modtryk in September 2006.
Rights sold to: Norway (HR Ferdinand), Germany (Ullstein) and The Netherlands (Ambo Anthos).
